John Viele
Born and raised on Bainbridge, John Viele has a true perspective of the Island community. Living with his wife Stephanie (also a lifelong island native) and two teenage children, in such a unique locale continues to be a blessing. Sparked by his mentor Stephen Deines, John’s passion for homebuilding started 25 years ago building custom homes and remodels for the island community. After receiving his undergraduate degree in economics, John felt the pull of homebuilding tug him back to the tangible daily results that custom construction provides. John’s career evolved from the multitple tasks of carpentry to the project management expertise of cost estimation, scheduling and general business management, learning and mastering these areas alongside Stephen.
Brian Russell
Born in the Winslow Clinic on Bainbridge Island, Brian is as local as it gets. He and his wife Deb, both 5th-generation islanders, are raising their three teenage children on Deb’s family homestead in Eagledale. Brian grew up on construction sites with his father and soon after high school was urged by John, to join him and mentor Stephen Deines, to work as a carpenter. After several years honing his carpentry skills, Brian went back to school to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington. Upon graduating Brian became a partner at Drury Construction, a longtime local commercial contractor, where he transformed into a project manager of diverse and unique local projects. Brian’s ability to create strong connections among clients, the design team, and other contractors solidified his place in the local market. Ultimately, his passion for the strong relationships, forged during custom home building, brought him back full circle to join lifelong friend, coworker, and now business partner John Viele.
